Sheffield Association 1867 (with 1,000 members by this time).In April 1877 politics reared its head and a breakaway group called Sheffield New Association ,which was formed in protest for not allowing clubs under 2 years old to be members. In 1881 it was renamed Hallamshire Football Association which would eventually merge with the Sheffield Association to become Sheffield & Hallamshire Association at the end of the 1886/87 season. Amalgamated with the Football Association on 28 April 1877
